That's the news; no Chinese language novel has ever won before.
But what I wanted to say is that "The Three-Body Problem" by Liu Cixin is really good, and I think it would be appreciated by anyone who is interested in either sci fi or politics. Not many sci fi novels open with a battle between radical factions during the Cultural Revolution. Just saying.
The English translation was by Ken Liu, who wrote "The Grace of Kings". I found "The Three-Body Problem" because I was intrigued by the cover of "The Grace of Kings" at the bookstore and was searching the local library for a free copy. That too was good.
Both Three Body and Grace are first books in planned trilogy, although I could stop at the end of the first and be totally satisfied.
