On Meet the Press yesterday, turncoat Democrat Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark, stabbed Barack Obama and working Americans in the back:
I have to say from a very personal level I'm not about to sit here and indict private equity. To me, it's just, we're getting to a ridiculous point in America. Especially, I know, I live in a state where pension funds, unions and other people are investing in companies like Bain Capital. If you look at the totality of Bain Capital's record, they've done a lot to support businesses, to grow businesses, and this to me, I'm very uncomfortable with.

It's nauseating to the American public. Enough is enough. Stop attacking private equity. Stop attacking Jeremiah Wright.
USA Today
Going full High Broderism, false equivalencies and all. Working it big time to defend Mitt Romney's "job-creating" record and undercut President Barack Obama. Going all Harold Ford, defending big Capital. God knows, lots of private equity owners in Newark, right?
No doubt, Morning Joe is rushing to make him a regular as soon as possible.
FU Mr. Booker. There needs to be a candidate against him that represents the people, not Big Money. I don't know when he runs next, but it is time to play hardball with turncoat Democrats. Booker did tremendous damage.
He's trying to "walk it back" now, but the damage is done.
Booker said in his video that Romney has made his business record "a centerpiece of his campaign" and that he "encourages" the Obama campaign to examine that record.
Don't forget what Booker did. For too long some Democrats have stabbed working people in the back. Booker tried to undercut a major theme of the Obama campaign. He needs to pay a price and the only way to show others that they attack at their own risk to to defeat Cory Booker when he runs for Mayor again.
We will remember, Mr. Booker. You can yuck it up with that pig Christie at your fancy dinners with the rich folks while people go hungry in your city, but we will remember and we will act.
Update I: From a comment by CS in AZ below, quoting an article in Solon:
In belittling this strategy, Booker isn’t just breaking with Obama, he’s breaking with just about everyone who’s ever run against Romney – including Ted Kennedy, who used criticisms of Bain’s treatment of workers to pull away from Romney in their 1994 Senate race. Essentially, Kennedy created the blueprint that Obama is now using. Booker is also providing Republicans with a dream talking point: A top Obama surrogate not only disapproves of Obama’s use of Bain, he finds it nauseating!

This is why it’s not at all surprising to see Booker going to bat for private equity. The allies he’s cultivated on Wall Street and in the financial industry (think, for instance, of his chummy relationship with Michael Bloomberg) have made Booker a prolific fundraiser, and when he ventured into the ultra-expensive statewide game, he’ll need them more than ever. Many of them have turned fiercely against Obama over the past few years, convinced that he’s unfairly targeted them. Booker’s words on “Meet the Press” may have enraged the average Obama supporter, but to the Wall Street class they were probably close to heroic – finally, a big-name Democrat with the cojones to call out Obama on his class warfare!
The Booker calculation, in other words, is probably that the average Democratic voter’s memory of his outburst will fade long before 2014 – but that the average Wall Street donor’s won’t.
Cory Booker, surrogate from hell
Cory Booker is the candidate of the 1%. We must remember and we must act against him in 2014, if not sooner.
I think he is big on Twitter and facebook. Let him know what you think of his Romney supporting comments.
Update II: Booker got his McCain points:
