I'm pissed the hell off with Jon Stewart and for that matter Arianna Huffington.
Jon Stewart pissed me off last night interviewing President Obama because I felt at times he was down right disrespectful. I feel that every President has to answer the tough questions, and President Obama did just that last night with class and grace and the audience was receptive to his answers, but Jon Stewart rubbed me the wrong way in his approach. I felt he was trying to come off as a tough guy in not wanting the right wing media to think he was soft, but instead came off a little disrespectful especially when he called the President...."DUDE".
Frankly, I'm getting tired of Jon Stewart and Arianna Huffington always bashing this president. He has done more than ANY President in my life time to make changes in this country, and all he gets are complaints from his supporters. If the Republicans take the House and Congress back, we can surely thank those two for their constant negative input. They always talk about democrats being weak when on the attack, but they undermine the progress democrats and the President are trying to make with constant snide and negative reporting.
Bush did several interviews, and I can't ever remember him being so disrespected by Pundits and Reporters as much as Obama. We, as a country, deserve the Republican party in charge because we can't appreciate someone who is genuinely trying to make a difference. Change does not happen overnight, so we have to respect the process in this hostile environment.
I would like to see Stewart or Huffington do a better job.......... I bet they can't. I expect disrespect and cynicism from the other side, but not so harshly from folk who say they're with him. As an African American woman born and raised in the South, it's disheartening to see this now. We had to fight for our civil rights with blood, sweat and death and we succeeded, so everyone must know that the horrific problems stemming today are gonna be tough as well. We need to be realistic and support this man as much as possible. I'm not saying be passive, because he needs to be accountable too, but be more understanding in terms of the problems facing us today. I'm pissed the hell off with some of these so called Liberal leaders, especially at a time when we're trying to win midterm elections.
I'm still with you President Obama, and I know many of you are too. I'm just saying..............
